‌‌During the week of Veterans Day, Veteran Programs collaborates with different departments and organizations to create a campus awareness of our faculty/staff/student veteran population at LMU through educational programming‌. In 2009, the Student Veterans Organization was created to not only serve veterans and veteran dependents but to also educate the LMU campus about veteran issues. Thus, Veterans Appreciation Week was born and has continued to be a part of our commitment to creating an awareness of our LMU student, staff, faculty and alumni veterans within our LMU community.

Join us for these 2015 Veterans Appreciation Week events!

Weeklong Events

Veteran Library Exhibit

William H. Hannon Library- Level 3

In honor and recognition of the United Stated Armed Forces, Veteran Programs will celebrate the men and women who have served and protected our country. The exhibit, which will be on the library's third floor atrium, will include biographies on LMU's very own student veterans, LMU archives and military memorabilia, keepsakes and articles of military life.

Food Drive

Malone 101, 201 and Residence Halls

In September 2015, Los Angeles Mayor Garcetti and the Los Angeles County declared a State of Emergency on homelessness. As we look to support and tackle the issue of homelessness, we will be collecting canned goods throughout the week. Donations can be dropped off in the residence halls, Malone 101 or Malone 201. All canned goods will be donated to U.S. Vets by United States Veterans Initiative in Inglewood. Help feed the homeless veterans who have served our country.
