ServeLA is an annual event organized by the Center for Service and Action that connects incoming First Year students with community service and the non-profit community in Los Angeles. This year, we are pleased to announce that CSA has partnered with City Year Los Angeles, and together, we have planned one of LMU's largest service days for the 2013-2014 academic year. Register now and participate in the event you do not want to miss. Join other First Year students and student leaders from some of LMU's most popular clubs and organizations. The service project will be a beautification project for a school in South Los Angeles. Meals and transportation will be provided. Event t-shirts will be distributed to the first 250 people who register.
The purpose of ServeLA is to provide first year students with opportunities for exposure to and awareness of the issues faced in Los Angeles and is the official kickoff of the Arrupe Service Council.
The Arrupe Service Council offers first year students an opportunity for immediate involvement at LMU and off campus through large scale events and smaller group meetings. The primary goal of this program is to provide students with ability to choose the programs and events of interest, while offering an opportunity for a smaller and intimate exchange through participation in smaller groups, facilitated by council leaders. These two components of the Arrupe Service Council bring students together to focus on education, service, philanthropy, advocacy, awareness and campus connection.
