Briana Maturi, Director of LMU CARES

Briana Maturi serves as the Director of LMU CARES at Loyola Marymount University, a position she has held since July 2013. In that role, she has created a campus-wide campaign regarding and developed curriculum on sexual misconduct prevention, consent education, bystander intervention, alcohol consumption and intercultural dialogue. In these four years, she has facilitated over 250 workshop on these topics and advised numerous other institutions on developing their own education. She also oversees Sorority & Fraternity Life and serves as an advocate for sexual misconduct victims on campus. In addition, Ms. Maturi serves as an instructor in the Ignatian Leadership Institute and the advisor for ASLMU elections. She has previous worked in residence life positions at various institutions and served as an executive board member of the Western Association of College University Housing Officers (WACUHO). Briana is a member of NASPA, the Jesuit Association of Student Personnel Administrators (JASPA) and the Association of Fraternity|Sorority Advisors (AFA). She earned her M.A. in Higher Education and Student Affairs Administration from The Ohio State University and her B.A. in Journalism from the University of Maryland. Briana is originally from the Jersey Shore, but now enjoys the life in Hermosa Beach.

Kiera Jacob serves as the Program Coordinator for LMU CARES. Kiera is a proud graduate of LMU, class of 2015, and became a full-time staff member at LMU in October 2016. After graduating, Kiera worked in Europe and loves to be a resource for students interested in pursuing cultural excursions after college. Before becoming a lion, Ms. Jacob lived in a small town outside of Yosemite National Park.
