Thank you for applying to participate in the Loyola Marymount University's Alternative Breaks Program sponsored by the Center for Service and Action. The Alternative Breaks program participant fee includes airfare, room and board, transportation and program costs to the sponsoring social service agency.
CSA subsidizes the cost for each trip (sometimes up to 60%) through fundraising and grants, and you are responsible for raising the remaining balance (which is what is listed as the trip cost). The trip prices are listed on Alternative Break trips schedule page on this website, and if you accept placement on a trip, you are responsible for raising the funds to cover this price.
To help alleviate student costs even further, we have created an additional Alternative Break Scholarship fund. The LMU community, including colleges and faculty, will be solicited by the CSA staff and student AB team.
The solicited funds will be given to the general scholarship fund for distribution to qualified applicants. For this reason, we ask you to solicit funds only from off-campus sources, for example, your family, friends, churches, local businesses and community organizations in your home town. Your student leaders will also be discussing ways to raise funds for your trip.

Scholarship Timeline & Requirements
Unfortunately, we are unable to guarantee funds to all students that apply for scholarships. The funds will be distributed after careful consideration and each applicant will be notified regarding their award. The payment timeline and requirements still need to be fulfilled as indicated in the chart below:
