The Student Worker Program is unique to Loyola Marymount University. Student Workers are given the opportunity to live and work on campus on a year-round basis while earning money.

The Student Worker Program is comprised of 24 students, working in various University departments. Here, they will gain the experience and connections to become some of the most well rounded students LMU has to offer.

Who We Are

The Student Worker Program is unique to Loyola Marymount University. Established in 1957, the Program was created to give students with significant financial need an opportunity to earn a college education in exchange for their contributions campus-wide. Over time the Program has undergone many improvements to enhance the Student Worker Experience to its full potential.

What We Do

The Student Workers retain a demanding schedule obliging them to develop time management skills during their years of involvement. The Student Workers have many resources readily available to assist them throughout their college journey. This is due to the support of administrators who oversee the program and prioritize student success.

  • Students are given the opportunity to earn money throughout the year. During the school year students work an average of 20 hours per week while attending school full time.

  • Student Workers are granted housing as long as they are working and in good standing with the Loyola Marymount University.

  • All Student Workers are required to attend this group experience which will introduce new members to the program, build community, and prepare the group for the year ahead.

  • CT (Crew Time) is a weekly opportunity for Student Workers to take a break from their fast pace lives to come together. Here the students partake in information seminars (financial planning, career and personal health advice, etc.) and have the opportunity to bond with one another through facilitated group discussions and activities.
