Director of Student Leadership & Development
Andrea Niemi is a Southern California native and has worked at LMU in Student Life for the past 21 years. Over her 24 year career in higher education, she has worked directly with leadership development, orientation, student work and volunteer service programs, student organizations, Greek life, and student government. She currently serves as the Program Director for the Ignatian Leadership Institute and teaches various leadership seminars as an adjunct faculty member in the School of Education. Andrea has her BA from California State University, Northridge and her Masters of Education from Oregon State University. She recently completed the Ignatian Colleagues Program sponsored by the Association of Jesuit Colleges & Universities in partnership with the Jesuit Conference of the United States.
Andrea's passion in leadership work is to support students as they discover their gifts and work toward the common good. In her free time, Andrea loves spending time with her family and being outdoors.
Associate Director, Student Involvement
Joel Gutierrez is the Associate Director of Student Involvement. He has over 10 years of combined direct experience in student affairs, social services, and therapeutic settings. Joel is currently completing a Ph.D. in Education, Curriculum and Culture from Chapman University. He earned his MSW from the University of Southern California and his B.A. from UC Davis. As the Associate Director, Joel oversees the professional staff and student staff teams of all registered student organizations, Mane Entertainment, and is the primary advisor for both ASLMU and GSLMU.
Joel loves assisting in the development of individuals and being of services to those in need. In his free time, Joel enjoys discovering new LA spots, spending time with his partner, and being with family.
Assistant Director, Registered Student Organizations
Katie is originally from Oakland, California and joined the Student Leadership & Development team in 2017. She earned her B.A. in Communication Studies from LMU and her M.S. in Higher Education and Student Affairs from Baylor University. As the Assistant Director for Registered Student Organizations, Katie advises LMU's 200+ Registered Student Organization community through trainings, workshops, event management, and financial planning. Katie also serves as ASLMU's Student Activity Fee Allocation Board Advisor and as an instructor within the Ignatian Leadership Institute.
In her free time, Katie loves spending time with her dogs Lola and Stella and watching movies.
Assistant Director, Student Involvement
Originally from Los Angeles, California, Jenn earned her B.A in Liberal Studies from LMU and her M.S. in College Student Development and Counseling from Northeastern University. As the Assistant Director for Student Involvement, Jenn advises ASLMU's programming members and Mane Entertainment through event management and logistics.
Associate Director, Sorority & Fraternity Life

In his role as Associate Director for Sorority & Fraternity Life, Devin leads the development and implementation of the strategic vision for the sorority and fraternity experience at LMU, while also advising council and chapter leaders. Originally from Cleveland Heights, OH, Devin received a B.A. in Communication from The Ohio State University and an M.S.Ed. in College Student Personnel from the University of Dayton.
Beyond LMU, Devin is an engaged member of the Association of Fraternity/Sorority Advisors (AFA). Having been exposed to this work as a member of Omega Psi Phi Fraternity, Incorporated, Devin's journey through higher education is guided by a passion for improving the student experience and the holistic development of self for life beyond college.

Allison is originally from Lynbrook, New York. She has a B.A. in Communications from the University of Delaware and a M.Ed. in Higher Education Administration from Boston University. In her current role as Assistant Director for Sorority & Fraternity Life, Allison supports student leadership and development through her work with council and chapter executive teams. Allison enjoys being involved in Higher Education in other capacities as well. She is a member of the Fraternity/Sorority Advisors (AFA).
In addition, Allison spends her time volunteering for a variety of different organizations, including Pi Beta Phi Headquarters as a Critical Conversations Facilitator and Kappa Alpha Theta Headquarters as an Alcohol Skills Training Program (ASTP) facilitator. In her spare time, you can find Allison playing tennis, dog walking, and exploring LA!
