Lauren Budman, Psy.D.

Clinical Interests/Specialty Areas:

Dr. Budman's therapeutic style is very warm, nonjudgmental, validating, empathetic, and strengths-based. She uses a humanistic and whole-person lens, integrating interventions from various modalities to best fit students’ needs. She is a generalist with expertise in treating anxiety, stress, OCD, trauma, relationship issues, life changes, and identity development. She has a passion for working with college students and enjoys collaborative work with first-gen, mixed-race, Latino/a/x and new student populations. Dr. Budman provides therapy in both English and Spanish, depending on student’s preference.

About the Staff Member:

Dr. Budman received both her master’s and doctorate degrees in Clinical Psychology at California Lutheran University. She has worked in a variety of settings, including hospitals, outpatient treatment facilities, community mental health centers, and child and family agencies. She enjoys creating a safe, down-to-earth, and accepting space for all students to grow and thrive. When she is not working, Dr. Budman enjoys traveling, crafting, painting, going to amusement parks, exploring new local places, and spending time with her two dogs.
