Assistant Dean, International Students and Initiatives

Csilla Samay, Ed.D. has had the pleasure of working in several units engaged in international education since coming to LMU in 2005. As assistant dean she provides leadership for OISS and collaborates across the university on efforts to increase support for international exchange and intercultural learning. Csilla is active in several professional associations and serves on the Executive Board of the International Education Congress of the Association of Jesuit Colleges and Universities (AJCU). She has over 25 years of experience working in international education and intercultural training in both in the U.S. and abroad. She holds a MA in Intercultural Relations from Lesley University in Cambridge, MA and a Doctorate in Educational Leadership for Social Justice from LMU. Outside of her passion for working in intercultural spaces, she enjoys spending time with her two daughters and forming them into global citizens through travel and interactions with people from all walks of life. She can often be found enjoying the outdoors, is an avid gardener who loves to share the fruits of her labor with others, and enjoys hosting friends from around the world visiting L.A.
