12.6.23 Finals Week

Dec. 6, 2023

Dear LMU Students,

The fall semester is coming to an end. As you prepare for final projects and exams, I know you may experience some stress and anxiety. Now is the time to make yourself a priority and finish strong. Take charge of your mental health and wellness.

Prioritize the things that are best for you and will help you succeed, whether that’s studying in a quiet place by yourself, in the Lion’s Den with some background noise, or getting together for group study at Hannon Library. Figuring out what works best for you is key to your academic success; make sure you get enough sleep, make healthy food choices, and exercise. Here are a few things to help you take some time for yourself:

  • Wellness Wednesday: Wednesday, Dec. 6, from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. is the final Wellness Wednesday of the semester and will feature both the @LAXPups and free chair massages. Stop by the Lion Wellness table to sign-up for a spot.
  • Feel Good Finals is a good way to take some time for yourself and practice self-care with ways to help you relax, study, and fuel up on healthy food and more.
  • Sleigh with Mane Entertainment: Real snow, sledding, and hot cocoa will be available at this festive holiday event on Friday, Dec. 8, from 3-5 p.m. in Sunken Garden.
  • TimelyCare: Mental health support available 24/7, including over the holiday break.

I understand that life’s journey can often be difficult, with highs and lows, triumphs and setbacks. Please be reminded that the university has resources and services available to support and assist you:

Student Affairs and the LMU community is here for you. Remember: You’ve Got This and we’ve got your back!

Sincerely,
