Throughout the 2024–25 academic year, Student Affairs professionals showcased their leadership and innovation by presenting at prominent national and regional conferences, sharing best practices, and advancing conversations that shape the student experience.
- Maria Barragan, director of the Romo and Cabrini Justice Center, and a student, presented at the Ignatian Family Teach-in for Justice in Washington, D.C.
- Min-Jung Kim, director of Asian Pacific Student Services, and Curtiss Takada Rooks, Ph.D., presented at the 2025 Asian Pacific Americans in Higher Education conference in Oakland, California, in April and the JASPA Five-Year Institute on June 23-27, 2025, in New Orleans, Louisiana.
- Kawanna Leggett, Ed.D., senior vice president for Student Affairs, in Oct. 2024 presented "Strategic Planning" and facilitated a presentation at the NASPA Ujima Institute at Clark Atlanta University and Spelman College on "Executive Presence Related to Cultural Identity." In Feb. 2025, SVP Leggett, presented at the ACCU Senior Student Affairs Officers Pre-Conference in Washington, D.C., on "Fostering Campus Environments for Civil Discourse."
- Kwyn Townsend Riley, director of the Office of Black Student Services, presented at Furious Flower Poetry Center Conference, a case study at the National Conference on Race and Ethnicity, and the Emerging Intersectional Scholar Series, following institutional responses to student activism regarding the Israel-Hamas conflict, and a case study following Institutional Responses to Student Activism Regarding the Israel-Hamas Conflict at the ACPA - College Student Educators International Conference entitled "Waiting to Exhale: for Sonya Massey."
- AAC & U Conference on Learning and Student Success on April 3-5, 2025, in San Juan, Puerto Rico. Presenters: jamal epperson, Claudio Rodriguez, director of Chicano Latino Student Services, and Julia Wade, Ed.D., director for generative dialogue and restorative practices.
- JASPA Five-Year Institute on June 23-27, 2025, in New Orleans, Louisiana, Presenters: jamal epperson and Julia Wade, Ed.D., director for generative dialogue and restorative practices.
- Olivia Rodriguez, program coordinator for Intercultural Facilitators, presented at LMU Speaks in February 2025 and, with student Intercultural Facilitators Lisette Gonzales and Xion Nelson, at NASPA (New Orleans) on March 17-19, 2025, on "Navigating Campus Concerns and Mitigating Cultural Conflict Through Student-Facilitated Dialogue." In April 2025, Rodriguez and student Intercultural Facilitators Lisette Gonzales presented at the IgnatianQ Conference on "Developing Our Voices of Change."
