Established in 1977, Special Games is a student-run organization. Special Games was founded as a day of celebration for those members of the Los Angeles community with intellectual and physical disabilities. Special Games brings together the disability community of Los Angeles and the University for two days of fun, friendship and personal growth. Our goal is fostering love, creating new friendships and making life-long memories. Our participants celebrate in non-competitive activities, fun and friendship.
Important Dates
Special Games Practice Day: March 15, 2025
Prior to the actual “BIG DAY,” athletes from various agencies and the surrounding community will gather for a Saturday practice. Each athlete is paired with a coach and participates in a variety of events and games such as basketball, bowling, arts & crafts, and so much more! The athlete brings their own lunch.
Special Games Big Day: March 22, 2025
Special Games is open to adults and children with disabilities. It is non-competitive and there is no cost for athletes. However, there are requests we must make: you will need to provide your own transportation for your athlete. Lunch is provided on Big Day. There will also be a medal and t-shirt awarded to every participant.
