Naloxone Training

Overdose prevention aligns with LMU’s commitment to the health and safety of our community and campus-wide involvement in comprehensive and ongoing wellness education. Naloxone is an overdose reversal drug that enables breathing.

Training is required to administer naloxone and properly save a life. Please watch the brief video above. Refer to the six point checklist in the event you find someone unresponsive:

  1. Recognize the signs and symptoms of an opioid overdose.
  2. Call 9-1-1 and yell for help.
  3. Check for responsiveness.
  4. Check for pulse/breathing.
  5. Administer naloxone (Narcan).
  6. Start CPR and rescue breathing.
