Asian Pacific Student Services (APSS) at Loyola Marymount University understands that collaborative relations between student affairs and faculty are essential to the student’s academic success and personal development (American College Personnel Association, 1975). APSS collaborates with various LMU departments, colleges, faculty & staff to develop programs and services that reflect the connection and integration of educational experiences occurring inside and outside the classroom. Asian American Pacific Islander Faculty and Staff Association
The mission of the Asian American Pacific Islander Faculty and Staff Association (AAPIFSA) is to serve the needs of the Asian Pacific American community at Loyola Marymount University. AAPIFSA strives to collaborate with all interested individuals to advocate and promote Asian Pacific Islander (APIA) community successes and concerns with both academic affairs and student affairs. AAPIFSA is established to act as the official organization of APIA faculty and staff, promote networking opportunities, maintain an APIDA presence at university programs and activities, and promote the well-being of faculty, staff, and students. The function of AAPIFSA is to address the concerns and interests of Asian American staff and faculty in the University community. Asian and Asian American Studies
Asian and Asian American Studies (AAAS) is an interdisciplinary department that was created in the Fall 2016 through the merger of two programs, Asian and Pacific Studies (ASPA) and Asian Pacific American Studies (APAM)
Admissions
APSS collaborates with the Admissions office on APIDA preview days, such as the Ignite Community and the APIDA Scholars Day, admitted Lions Day.
API Alumni Association
LMU encompasses 3 affinity-based alumni groups and APSS works closely with the API Alumni Association to connect the APIDA community in and outside of LMU. Annually, the Alumni Engagement office and APSS host the APIDA Student and Networking Event on campus in the spring semester.
Center for Asian Business (CAB)-College of Business Administration
Established in 1995, the Center for Asian Business promotes understanding between Asian countries and people through multiple channels, including international business courses, faculty research grants, student scholarships, and special lectures and movie screenings.
