About the Staff Member

Javier Iribarren is a bilingual licensed psychologist with extensive experience providing psychotherapy, assessment, crisis intervention, and supervision across university, community, and health care settings. He earned his Psy.D. in Clinical Psychology from Pepperdine University, and an M.S.W. from UCLA. His clinical work reflects a sustained commitment to serving culturally and linguistically diverse populations, including immigrant, first generation, and bilingual individuals.

He approaches treatment collaboratively and integrates evidence-based practices drawn from cognitive behavioral, psychodynamic, mindfulness based, trauma informed, and existential traditions. He has worked in clinical, didactive and research settings with adults across the life span, including extensive experience with university students, older adults, and individuals coping with severe medical illnesses, neurocognitive conditions, trauma, substance use and abuse and acute and chronic psychological crises. 

In addition to clinical work, Javier has held administrative and research appointments at UCLA, where he taught graduate and undergraduate courses and led funded research on access to care and stress in marginalized communities.
