Clinical Interests and Specialty Areas:

Nicollette Balassanian, Ph.D. takes an integrative approach to therapy, drawing from psychodynamic, relational, and cognitive-behavioral perspectives. She provides individual, group and couple’s therapy, and strives to foster a supportive and collaborative environment where students can deepen self-understanding, build resilience, and work toward their goals. Her clinical interests include anxiety, relationship concerns, identity exploration, and navigating major life transitions. She also considers the cultural and systemic factors that shape each client’s experiences and values working with individuals from diverse cultural and linguistic backgrounds.

About the Staff Member:

Balassanian earned her doctoral degree and a master's degree in clinical psychology from the California School of Professional Psychology at Alliant University and her a master's degree in psychology from Pepperdine University. She has experience working with children, adolescents, and adults across community mental health, private practice, and college counseling settings. Balassanian is a second-generation Armenian American, is bilingual in Armenian and English, and is a Southern California native. Outside of work, she enjoys game nights, reading, being an at-home barista, and spending time with friends, family, and her cat.
