Dr. Gill is a Board Certified Licensed Clinical Psychologist with over 15 years of experience working within higher education institutions providing oversight and administrative direction for mental health programs, directing program development and outreach efforts and providing culturally responsive, evidence-based psychotherapy, diagnostic psychological assessments for disabilities and psychiatric conditions, violence risk assessments and crisis management services.
Dr. Gill has a longstanding commitment to improving access to culturally responsive, evidence based mental health care for marginalized populations. Dr. Gill utilizes a holistic approach in helping clients manage their health and well-being utilizing the biopsychosocial model to assess for and conceptualize disease in the mind-body of the individual. As experiences and functioning in daily life are influenced by a intersection of numerous factors including social systems and structures, Dr. Gill works to address the impacts of experiences with privilege and oppression on individuals mental health and psycho-social functioning.
With a strong foundation in Liberation and Feminist Psychology and Evidence Based Third Wave Cognitive Behavioral Interventions including Mindfulness Based Cognitive Behavior Therapy, Dialectical Behavior Therapy and Mindfulness Based Self Compassion, Dr. Gill works with clients to enhance their psycho-social functioning, quality of life and overall health and well-being. Through incorporating knowledge of the neurobiology of attachment, nutritional psychiatry, the physiology of emotions, polyvagal theory and somatic interventions, Dr. Gill is adept at working with clients who experience overlapping medical and psychiatric conditions.
