Starting at a new university can feel overwhelming, but you don’t have to do it alone! The Transfer Living Learning Community is here to help you connect, lead, and thrive at LMU from day one and throughout your first academic year - while building the skills, relationships, and confidence to succeed for the rest of your time at LMU and beyond.
Two Transfer LLC Options
Beginning in 2026–27, transfer students will have two residential LLC options to choose from:
- Transfer Pod LLC – Palm South
A close-knit pod of 18 transfer students living together in a shared apartment-style community with a full kitchen, large common area, and multiple private bathrooms. This option provides a collaborative, home‑like environment that makes it easy to form connections quickly.
- Transfer Suite LLC – McCarthy Hall (NEW!)
A new Transfer LLC option located in McCarthy Hall, offering a traditional suite-style layout. Students live in 4‑person suites (two rooms connected by a shared bathroom) with access to building lounges, study spaces, and community areas. This option provides the same Transfer LLC support and programming within a more structured residence-hall environment.
Both communities share the same mission, coursework, programming, and support structure - just in different housing styles and price points.
Why Join the Transfer LLC?
- Instant Community: Live with other new transfer students who are navigating the same transition. Build friendships, find support, and start your LMU journey with people who “get it.”
- Leadership Development: Take a 1‑unit Ignatian Leadership course each semester to grow as a leader and strengthen group‑work and communication skills.
- Personal Support: Build relationships with staff and campus departments who are here to help you succeed and feel at home.
- Mentorship & Opportunities: Gain access to leadership roles, mentorship programs, and ongoing involvement in Student Housing and Transfer Programs.
