Born in Hong Kong and entering religious life in L.A. in 1984, Maria Lai, C.S.J. is an under-cover nun as a Sister of Saint Joseph living among students at LMU for ten years. With degrees in theology, family studies and learning technology, she serves as a graduate minister and spiritual director at LMU, director of religious education at Saint Bridget Chinese Catholic Church, and a facilitator at VLCFF, Dayton University. Lai enjoys leading pilgrimages, and she has a passion for accompanying survivors of human trafficking.
