Office for International Students & Scholars (OISS) is here to provide specialized information for international students who were just accepted to Loyola Marymount University and are about to travel out of their home-country.

As an international student, you will need to comply with the Student Visa Requirement and Maintaining Student Status. These regulations are based on the laws of the U.S. and are enforced by the United States Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) under the Department of Homeland Security.

Before your departure, please review all the information below.

Checklist for International Student Enrollment

Checklist for International Student Enrollment would help you to figure out your next step, once you are admitted to LMU. Click on the tab below that applies to your international student population.

It is your responsibility to contact OISS should you have any questions or concerns regarding these issues.

  • 1. Pay your LMU commitment deposit.

    2. Submit your SEVIS I-20 Request Form‌ (Certificate of Eligibility for F-1, International Student Status) in MyStatus. Use your MyLMU login and password to access MyStatus.

    3. Register for mandatory International Orientation.

    5. Obtain your visa and review your legal requirements.

    6. Complete your Housing request, if applicable. For off-campus housing, please visit Off-Campus Student Life for available resources.

    7. Pay your tuition and fees.

    8. Create login ID and password for MyLMU. (You will need your Student ID number). You can check your registration status and your account information via PROWL once you log in to MyLMU.

    9. Meet the Health Entrance Immunization Requirements and Insurance requirements.

    10. Check the Academic Calendar for important deadlines regarding courses.

    Note: Once you arrive on campus, OISS should be your first stop! We are located in Malone 201. We will assist you with your student ID card, housing, and other move-in items.

    4. Schedule your registration advisement appointment. To enroll in courses, you must contact your designated academic advisor (found on your acceptance letter). To search for their contact info, please click on Campus Directory.

    5. Create login ID and password for MyLMU (You will need your Student ID number). You can check your registration status and your account information via PROWL once you log into MyLmu.

    6. Obtain your visa and review your legal documents.

    7. Complete your Housing request, if applicable. For off-campus housing, please visit Off Campus Student Life for available resources.
