Csilla Samay, Ed.D.
Interim Dean of Students and Associate Vice President for Student Affairs
As interim dean of students and associate vice president for Student Affairs at LMU, Csilla Samay, Ed.D., has responsibility for Community of Care, the Office for Student Conduct and Community Responsibility, the Office for International Students and Scholars, and Student Transitions and Success.
Samay has held several positions across Academic and Student Affairs since coming to LMU in 2005, collaborating widely across the university on efforts to support diverse student populations, build LMU’s global footprint, provide support for students’ free expression, and facilitate intercultural learning. She has over 25 years of experience working in higher education both in the U.S. and abroad, and currently serves in leadership roles in several professional associations (AJCU, NAFSA). She holds a bachelor's degree from LMU, a master's degree in intercultural relations from Lesley University in Cambridge, and a doctoral degree in educational leadership for social justice from LMU. Outside of her career, she enjoys spending time with her two children, forming them into global citizens through travel and interactions with people from all walks of life. She can often be found enjoying the outdoors in her native Los Angeles and elsewhere connecting with friends from around the world.
