Fall 2023 Move-In Crew
The Move-In Crew are student volunteers from Registered Student Organizations, Service Organizations, and Sorority and Fraternity Life along with staff from the Division of Student Affairs available on move-in day to assist new students who are moving into Student Housing on Wednesday and Thursday, August 23rd and 24th, 2023. Why volunteer to be part of the Move-In Crew?
Student Volunteers will gain the opportunity to:
- Receive credit for required community service hours
- Promote their student organization, club, or department to new LMU students
- Acclimate First-Year Students to Student Housing and LMU as a whole
- Welcome new families to Lion Nation
Additionally, student volunteers will be provided:
- Early Arrival if they live on-campus (subject to space readiness);
- Volunteer T-Shirt to wear during their shifts and keep afterwards;
- Lunch during move-in days/shifts
What is expected of student volunteers?
Student Volunteers must:
- Take responsibility for a moving bin for the duration of their shift;
- Assist students and their families with moving belongings from their vehicle, into moving bins, and into their housing assignment, traveling up stairs when necessary;
- Strive to provide excellent customer service to students and their families;
- Attend Volunteer Orientation on Tuesday, August 22nd, from 5:00pm – 7:00pm;
- Sign up for and complete 2 shifts each on August 23rd and August 24th
