Residential Lockout Assistance Process

Housing Information Regarding Lockout Assistance

The Housing Office holds students to aide in the safety and security of our residential community. Residential students are expected to have their OneCard on hand at all times. Should a student misplace/lose their OneCard, residential students are able to receive lockout assistance throughout their time living on-campus.

If a student has misplaced their OneCard and is locked out, residential students may outreach to their local Area Office or their Resident Advisor On Duty (between 10pm-7:30am nightly) for assistance. If a student has lost their OneCard, residential students may contact the Department of Public Safety or the OneCard Office for assistance.

If receiving lockout assistance from the Area Office or the Resident Advisor On Duty, students should expect the following:

  • First Lockout: $0
  • Second Lockout: $0
  • Third Lockout: $50 OR meeting with RA.
  • Fourth Lockout: $50
  • Fifth Lockout: $75
  • Sixth Lockout: $100 OR meeting with RD.
  • Seventh Lockout and Beyond: $100 per lockout.
  • Students are expected to visit their local Area Office for lockout assistance. The Area Office will issue a temporary 1-hour lockout card for students to enter their residential space. Students are expected to return their 1-hour lockout card after use.

For Area Office locations and hours, please reference the Area Office website.

  • If the Area Office is closed, students are able to contact their Resident Advisor On Duty (RAOD) between 10pm-7:30am for lockout assistance. The RAOD will provide students will a one-time “dip” into their residential space for the evening.

For RAOD contact information, please refer to your Resident Advisor or Resident Director.

  • If a student loses their OneCard, residential students can go to the Department of Public Safety, who will issue a temporary OneCard. Note: temporary OneCards will deactivate your permanent OneCard. After receiving a temporary OneCard, students must go to the OneCard Office to receive a new permanent OneCard.

Students may also go directly to the OneCard Office for a replacement card.
